This years POPS AGM reached a sparkling conclusion with the Phil Tarbuck Award being presented to Danielle Byron, who has worked at POPS for over five years as our HR administrator. The award recognises the exceptional work of a member of POPS staff, going the extra mile and making a difference to the organisation and our families.
The award is named after Phil Tarbuck, a former Chairman of our Board of Directors, who died in 2008, to mark his outstanding contribution to POPS and the work we do. Phil was involved with POPS for over twenty years, being a supporter of the organisation from its early beginnings until his last position as Chairman.
The award rounded off an excellent evening in which Alison Wood, POPS Head of Operations, presented a summary of the years events in the style of the ‘News at 10’. With spinning headlines, Big Ben bongs, live interviews and plenty of ticker tape the presentation took us on a whistle-stop tour of how POPS has grown and developed during the course of 2011-12.
Thanks go to all the staff, volunteers and family members who took part and who helped make it such a fantastic evening.
